Japan

You arrive transferring through the eerie aerobridge to be welcomed by the oppressive humidity. Feeling uninvited by the ghostly aura within the systematic structure of their streamline life. Endless arrival of gargantuan aircraft vessels vibrating the terrain beneath your feet. Standing alone amidst the stampede of unconscious robots marching briskly towards their destination. The hum of the travelator suffocating your ears as if you were surrounded by a thousand phantom drones. Your eyes squint at the sight of intensely luminous beacons radiating down from the ceiling above. Intimidated by the gatekeeper guarding his sacred territory. The mundane sound of a constant beeping tone signalling the success of their passport acceptance as people infiltrate the land of structure.

Stepping foot into the enormous expanse of monopolised territory overwhelmed by the sheer scale of the cities entirety. As you begin to relax, unwind and ground yourself; absorbing such a diverse environment completely alien to the insignificant existence of your own nation. You are belittled by the dominating buildings as if you are a beetle lying in the grass amongst colossal trees towering above. As you journey to the ever-expanding metropolis, you feel as if you are being teleported through to another dimension. In a vacuum travelling at lightspeed as if you are soaring through the air in a Millenium Falcon as vehicles rapidly glide past in the opposite direction.

You have arrived at your new destination, beads of sweat caress your body as a result of the smothering humidity. Sitting below powerlines entangled in a labyrinth of wires. Confused by the complete contrast of buildings surrounding you as you notice yourself standing within the somewhat run-down ghetto section of Tokyo city, but simultaneously amongst futuristic robotised skyscrapers. The recurring tick from a thousand bike spokes like a clock in overdrive. Inhaling the thick scent of Japanese cuisine, awakening your nostrils after being in hibernation. The streets littered with compact restaurants shoulder to shoulder having no room to breathe. After looking, listening and feeling, exhaustion takes over, its time to rest in order to rise the next day with the energy to continue exploring this modern metropolitan.
